Viral Video Claims to Show Jaffar Express Blast in Balochistan Hijacking

A video purportedly showing the blast and hijacking of the Jaffar Express in Balochistan by suspected Baloch gunmen has gone viral, hours after the attack on Tuesday. The footage, shared widely by pro-Balochistan groups, claims to depict the moment armed men targeted the train, injuring passengers and taking hostages. Authorities report 27 terrorists killed and 150 passengers rescued, but official confirmation of the video remains pending.

The viral clip shows a train moving through mountainous terrain before black smoke rises from its front coaches. Armed men, believed to be Baloch activists, appear near the stationary train. Pro-Baloch groups claim it’s the first visual evidence of the attack and seizure.

The Jaffar Express, carrying around 500 passengers in nine coaches, was en route from Quetta to Peshawar when it came under fire. The incident occurred between Gudalaar and Piru Koneri in a tunnel. Several passengers were injured, and many were taken hostage by the attackers.

Pakistani authorities reported that security forces neutralized 27 terrorists in a rescue operation. Around 150 passengers have been freed from the hijacked train. The operation unfolded in a remote, rugged area, complicating efforts to secure the site.

No official statement from the Pakistani government or Baloch rebels has confirmed the video’s authenticity. “We are investigating the footage and the incident,” a government source said, withholding further comment until verification is complete.

The viral video has intensified focus on the Jaffar Express attack as rescue efforts continue. Authorities are expected to release an official update on the video and the operation soon. The situation remains tense in Balochistan as investigations proceed.
